Fingerprinting * $10.00 fee per Card. Service available to residents and individuals employed in the City of Birmingham from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Child Safety Seat Inspections
Child safety seat inspections are conducted on Sundays between the hours of 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Birmingham residents need to call Officer Greg Wald at 248.530.1775 and leave a voice mail to schedule an appointment for an inspection. Either Officer Greg Wald or Officer Mark Jewell will return your call to obtain preliminary information and to schedule an appointment during the listed day and times.
Accident / Incident Report Copies Copies are available at $ 5.00 per report. Please have important information such as complaint numbers, location of incident, and date when making inquiries about reports. Accident reports are available from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the police department clerical area. For telephone inquiries, dial 248.530.1873 Please note that a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request may be required to obtain copies of certain documents.
Permits For Applications For Purchase Of Firearms* Service available to residents only from 11:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. A valid Michigan driver's license with current address is required in order to obtain a permit to purchase firearms. Informational materials related to gun permit written examination are available for review prior to test.
*Applicants should arrive at the Police Department by 3:00 P.M. to complete the application process.
Applications For Concealed Weapons Permits Application packets are available from 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Completed packets are submitted to the Oakland County Clerk's office for processing.
