Celebrate Birmingham Parade and Party in Booth Park

Theme:  The Good O'le Days

The annual Celebrate Birmingham Parade will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Come join the festivities by marching in the parade, sponsoring a specialty unit, volunteering, or just watching the parade. 

Park activities for the kids will be returning this year.  All activities will be held in Booth Park immediately following the parade.  Special thanks to the Junior League of Birmingham for coordinating the children's activities.

PARADE POSTER

2011 NEW ROUTE The Parade will begin at 1:00PM in downtown Birmingham. The parade will start on South Old Woodward at Brown. It will travel north on Old Woodward to Booth Park.  The parade will end in Booth Park.

NEW GRAND FINALE! – Whiskers & Waggles Pet Parade

Kids will be showing off their animal friends in this exciting new feature of the Celebrate Birmingham Parade.  Middle and Elementary School Students may register at their school or by completing the registration form.

Participants
Please complete the Participation Form and return it by April 30th. A letter of confirmation with your parade position will be sent to you the second week of May.

Sponsors
Please complete the Sponsorship Form and return it by April 30th to ensure your name is on the volunteer shirts. It is businesses, like yours, with a generous spirit of giving and sharing that makes this community such a special place. 

Volunteers
We are looking for energetic individuals to serve on the parade committee and to help on parade day. Committee duties include: assist in the planning of the parade, public relations, and coordinating volunteers. Parade day volunteers will direct parade participants to their proper place in the line up and/or carry a banner in the parade.

Street Closures
Please note that parking will not be available on the closed streets.

• South Old Woodward from Brown to triangle at 9:00 AM.
• Old Woodward from Brown to Maple and Maple to Willits at 11:30 AM.
• North Old Woodward from Willits to Oak (northbound only) will be closed at 11:30 AM. Southbound traffic will remain open until 12:30 PM.
• East/Westbound traffic will remain open until approximately 12:30 PM.
